Finding passion and purpose

I'm not sure if you found this, but COVID happening presented the perfect opportunity to have some time to reflect on what I wanted. We were given lots of lemons this year and my lemonade was gaining clarity around my passion and purpose. What I discovered was I was happiest when I was working with women, just like me who were wanting to feel energised to live a fulfilling life and have a low stress lifestyle.

I have always loved helping people and I know I am a natural healer. Studying psychology and health science, becoming a naturopath, being a mother, that has all helped me to help others.

What many people don't know about me is that while I helped others heal over the last decade I was also working to heal myself. After having Henry, my second child, I spent years feeling either depressed, stressed or anxious.

I know my default mode is to go into carer mode and my care factor is so high in everything I do. Whilst this is a good thing it can also be problematic. I have spent most of my life tending to and putting the needs of others before mine. As a mother and as a clinician I have had times where that care for others was what undid me. It took a few crash and burn moments to begin the process of changing this. To learn to put me first. To first go inward before I could go outward and be in service to others.

Simon Sinek talks about the importance of knowing what your WHY is. What is it that motivates and drives you? What are you passionate about? What I know coming out of the crazy year that 2020 has been is that moving forward my WHY, my passion is to save other women going through what I went through during those years. If I can help them fast track their way through it or avoid it entirely I think that is meaningful work. I am obsessed with helping women live better lives by implementing smarter ways of living and working.

The way to start doing this is to:

  • First decide to put yourself at the front of the line

  • Embark on a journey of self discovery

  • Implement meaningful self care constantly

  • Ask for help when you need it.

Moving forward my focus will be to help women implement the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and social self care they need to live their best life. While I will still work hard on balancing the biology and biochemistry I will also work more holistically than ever. Supporting clients to get their mental and emotional wellbeing optimised too.

I want nothing more than to see others live a life that is in alignment and to feel connected to themselves, others and the world around them.

I look forward to sharing more with you in the new year and if you would like to learn more about how we can work together please get in touch.
