Celebrate You!

When it comes to Christmas time we tend to just be focused on those around us. We think about what gifts we need to buy others. We focus on what food we are going to make for others to enjoy and if you are a parent you are focused on your children’s end of year activities and school wrapping up.

What about spending time this festive season focusing some of that energy on you? More specifically, what about being intentional about celebrating you? Creating time and space to celebrate you feels like it is especially important to do this year. You have almost made it through a global pandemic. You have probably had to work at a desk in a tiny bedroom or from your kitchen table, you have possibly home schooled children while working at the same time or you have survived the loneliness that came with lockdown in this pandemic.

As the year winds down and you finally get a chance to stop, focus on honouring you.

A few useful questions I like to think about are:

What were your wins?

What made you extra amazing this year?

What are you most proud of?

What did you do this year that worked for you?

This is a good way to remember and acknowledge the great things you did, felt and achieved. Then, decide how you want to celebrate that. Do you need to buy yourself a well deserved gift, a special experience, or take time away on your own or with friends? Choose a way that works for you to celebrate you. You deserve it.
