The New Way of Living

There is no questioning that many of us have adopted habits that, while common, are not serving our long-term health.

The good news is that there’s a shift happening—a move toward healthier, more sustainable ways of living.

I like to think that we are moving back to living in an aligned way with what our bodies and minds are built for.

Here is what’s out and what’s in that is helping people live happier, healthier lives.

Out: Staying up late and living by the "sleep when I’m dead" mentality

In: Prioritising sleep for better mental health, learning, and energy

Sleep isn't just about rest. It's essential for your mental well-being, cognitive function, and physical energy.

Instead of burning the candle at both ends, more people are recognising the power of a good night’s rest.

Out: Grinding and working through nights and weekends

In: Setting clear work boundaries and embracing a 'work to live' mindset

Success doesn’t have to come at the cost of your personal life. Working late into the night or on weekends leads to burnout, not progress. By creating healthy boundaries, we can achieve balance, leaving time for the things we love outside of work.

Out: Drinking tap water and letting my body be the filter

In: Drinking filtered water to reduce plastic, metal, and toxin exposure

Water is fundamental to our health, and ensuring it’s free from contaminants like plastics and heavy metals is key. Using a filter is a simple step toward lowering your toxin load and supporting your body's natural detoxification.

Out: Relying on fast, processed food

In: Eating a whole-food diet that is nourishing

Convenience comes at a cost. Fast food and processed meals can rob us of essential nutrients. Shifting to whole, real foods that we prepare ourselves supports long-term health, providing the vitamins, minerals, and energy we need to thrive.

Out: Under-eating to lose weight as a woman

In: Focusing on eating 2g of protein per kg of body weight to maintain muscle mass

Women, especially, have been told for too long to eat less to lose weight. But the new focus is on maintaining muscle and strength, which requires adequate protein intake. It’s not just about calories—it’s about quality nutrition that fuels your body.

The new way of living prioritises well-being over grind, nourishment over convenience, and health over hustle.

It’s a mindset shift that’s empowering us to live better, not harder.
